Client: Lounge Underwear

Project: Lounge Underwear (online retailer) relocated to a new 54,000sq ft located in the Blyth Valley Business Park in Solihull. Their aim was to create a fun and vibrant working environment, a ‘HQME‘. Lounge wanted the space to not only inspire and excite their ‘Loungers’ but to also make a comfortable home from home. Initially the space will welcome 100 employees with the ability to cater for a further 400 in the future.

Key Risks: Apart from the general risks associated with an office refurbishment, the project specific risks were surrounding the installation of the large atrium paper artwork. This artwork was a tip of the hat to the origins of Lounge which first started making paper patterns for their products.

The artwork was constructed from paper to match the humble beginnings of the companies initial paper patterns of their products. This crated a fire risk, so the sculpture is fabricated out of fire retardant paper.

Comments: This was a pleasant project to work on as the client was incredibly hands-on and positive about creating a special unique place to work. Their care and consideration for their employees really came through in the end product and its an exceptional space both Lounge and Office Principles should be proud of.
